Yesterday morning the wind was quite strong and made it feel rather chilly even though it was well over freezing point. My car was tossed here and there when I had to pass open fields but there weren’t many other cars around so I didn’t mind.

I had worked around two hours when I noticed I had recieved a text message. It was from the Beekeeper, not a good sign if it arrives early on a work day π π π He told me that Alma was strolling around outside the dog yard again π She had been outside for well over half an hour before I noticed the message. She mostly stays close to the dog yard though so that’s at least something π π

Turns out that she had worked her way through one of the repaired places. So firstly I mended the net that she had managed to dig her way through, amazing that she didn’t injure her paws, and then I tied big logs to the net with electric cables. I ran out of wire so that was the best I could do π π I must have been an evil dictator in a previous life so I got Alma as a punishment in this life π π π Well one can at least say that she’s anything than boring that dog π π π

The wind was even worse when I drove back to work. They had thinned out trees by the side of the road and suddenly a tree came flying across the road just in front of my car π π π Later, when I was driving through the forest a big pine branch fell down and was smashed in lots of tiny pieces and I had just enough time to avoid it π π π Thankfully the wind calmed down a lot later in the evening.

Alma has been complaining loudly since after we had our evening meal. First it wasΒ about not having the chewing bone Albin had, so I gave her that one and another to Albin, he really doesn’t care which of them he chews on. So naturally Alma wanted that one instead but I stopped her from taking it. So her pointy ears hang straight down and she is always wocal about everything and she’s loud as well π π After that both of them followed me up to the computer and Albin went to the bed. It didn’t take long before Alma also went there.

I have no idea what she did but she was complaining loudly after, from what it sounded like, Albin gave up and tried to bite her π π π After that she became even louder and Albin growled even louder until she finally gave up and fell asleep beside the bed π π π Alma really is a lovely dog here in the cottage and garden but when she decides to be a pain in the a.. she really is π π π Nova is up here as well but Alma has learned never to mess with the Queen π π π

It is time to have a cup of cocoa and then, like always, fall asleep in front of the tv.
Have a great day!

Hi Jaz!
Even though it was a bit scary I still laughed when it happened π
Nothing wrong with a good storm π I really like the roaring sound from it.
Our nights are bitterly cold but days are still warmish, well they would have been if the wind could stop blowing π
Have a great day!

Hi Christer,
Alma sounds like Rocky. Rocky always wants the toy that Piki Dog has. Doesn’t matter that there is at least one identical toy right next to him. On the other hand Piki Dog always wants whatever attention Rocky is getting even if the attention is me brushing Rocky’s teeth. Well, alright then, little Piki, you shall have your teeth brushed. π
That was two close calls for you going back to work. When it gets that windy, the loose branches hanging up in the canopy come down. And loose trees, too, apparently.
It’s been wicked cold here all week. Temperature has been below freezing and the wind chill has made it even colder. Supposedly, we will be back in early spring temperatures tomorrow but it’s been more like January here. Extremely sunny, though. I have been able to sit comfortable on the top porch step which is in the full sun and out of the wind as long as the wind is coming from the west.
My orchids are beginning to flower again. They live in the bathroom on the window sill above the tub. It’s cold and dark in there but it’s the only place they will grow. Who am I to question them. π
Have a great evening.

Hi Caryn!
Yes they do sound much the same π π
I must admit that even though it was scary I still laughed when I saw that tree fly by π π π
Nights have been bitterly cold here but days are still above 32, no warmer weather in sight though but I sure hope nights at least will stay less cold soon!
No orchids in bloom here, I’ve managed to kill all but one and it looks as if it will refuse to flower this year, it only flower once a year in late winter early spring but no signs at all.
No never question them if they give You flowers π π
Have a great day!
Christer.

Never question the orchids about preferring to flourish exactly where they shouldn’t and never transplant them either. They will show their extreme displeasure by dying. π¦

So true! Replanting is always the same as killing it π π π

The wind has been nasty here as well, Christer, even going for a walk to the post office this week was an adventure. Not a very good one because of being hit in the face with wind and it was cold too. If I didn’t want to mail out my brother’s birthday gift and some cards, I would have preferred to stay inside! Glad you or your car were not hit by those trees and branches. Alma is quyite the challenge it seems. Good thing she didn’t get stung by any bees too.

Hi Beatrice!
The wind is still blowing here even though it is weaker now. I’m a bit tired of it now since, as You say, it makes it even colder.
Yes I was really lucky π
She is quite a challange that girl. She’s an angel here at home but completely the opposite when we’re out walking. She has the attention span of ten seconds and easily get bored π
Have a great day!
Christer.
