  2. Sorry to hear you lost your cat. He was beautiful. Was he very old? How did you come to have him? I could not find more info about him on your blog. Sorry to seem nosey. I remember your cat Bertil. I currently have a cat the looks much like Bertil did- a brown tabby.

    1. Hi bornfreev and welcome to my blog!

Yes he was fifteen years old and he came to me with his brother Bertil after my then dogs welcomed a big rat into my cottage. Those dogs loved everything living πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I think You’ll have to dig down a bit in this and previous blogs to find more about him. Teodor was always a bit of a bully to be honest and mostly stayed outdoors.

Have a great day and welcome back πŸ™‚

      Christer.

      1. I did search the early blog entries and found a couple of good photos of him. I just recently adopted a cat from a local shelter as a companion to my 9yr. old tabby cat, Gracie. She is a 6yr. old Maine coon and we have named her Emma. She is very sweet and playful and trying to make friends with Gracie. I once had a really large, male coon cat that weighed 22 pounds. He was not fat, just really big. He died of a heart failure in 2017. I miss him still. Sorry to go on … I just love cats (and dogs, too)!

      2. Hi bornfreev!

If You search for the cottage by the cranelake on google You might find all the rest of my blogs with the same name, I’ve gone through five already and a seventh is on its way. I only use the free ones so when I’ve used up all the free space I get I start a new one. I think You might be able to see all but one of all the dogs that lived here with me, five other dogs πŸ™‚

I am thinking of, in the future getting a Main coon but it has to be a kitten since Albin has a tendency to want to kill all cats older than half a year πŸ™‚
I still miss all my dogs and all the cats as well, that never stops I’m afraid.

        Have a great day!

        Christer.

    1. Hi Cindi!

He was getting quite old and after Bertil had gone he rather quickly went downhill too.

There won’t be any new cat at least yet, Alma still treats cats like toys, rather tough that is πŸ™‚ But, and that’s a big but a new cat would move here I think I would like a Main Coon πŸ™‚ Nasty expensive though. I’ve already started to look if he’s by the door waiting to go outside πŸ™‚

      Thanks!

      Christer.

    1. Hi Jaz!

He rather quickly went down hill after Bertil passed away. He lost lots of weight but just a few weeks ago I found a new food for him and he started to get back some of his weight again, so I can say that I thought today would be his last. He was old though, 15 years and that’s a lot for an outdoor cat. So no cats here now and if another one would move here it would be later on when Alma has calmed down some, se treat cats like toys, rather rough.
      Thanks!

      Christer.

  5. Hi Christer,
I’m so sad about Teodore. I’m sure he had the best life with you and I’m glad you had the chance to say good bye.
Plant something orange that will glow in the sun just like Teo.
    Have a good day.

    1. Hi Caryn!

It did feel rather good that I didn’t scold him this morning as I have so many times lately πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ He was quite annoying when he wanted to πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I think I’ve found an orange (starts yellow but turns orange with age) rose that would thrive in that spot. Now all I have to do is to find someone who sells it.

  6. Christer,
I am so very sad for you. You know that I too recently had one of my kitties die. Reading your post made me sad all over again. Poor Jack, Gwen’s brother, cries a lot. I have Gwe’s ashes and paw print I’ll put on my aunt’s grave.

I think Teodore had the best life. I also think he knew it. He kept coming home, even at the end.

I’m sad for you. Take care!!

    1. Hi tana!

I thought he was going to be with us for quite some time more because he had started to gain weight again, so it was a surprise to find him. We barely got along but he was a great mouse, rat and vole hunter πŸ™‚

      Have a great day!

      Christer.
