From what I’ve seen through the windows today has been another rather wonderful day. Sunshine all day and warm but the wind has been rather strong, I noticed that when I drove to Gudhem to get the new shoes I had ordered. Hiking shoes that fit perfect but I really didn’t check what color I ordered 🙂 🙂 They are green, thankfully not screaming green but sort of antique green (color code NCS kod: 4112-G60Y for those of You that is interested).
I have photos in my camera downstairs but I haven’t downloaded them into the computer and the same goes for my little car camera 🙂 So today You’ll see photos from the folder “For a rainy day”. Except for the last one that I took with the phone yesterday. I must have slept with my head in a strange angle last night because my neck is a bit troublesome today.
Besides that I’ve had a rather good day. I had my development talk at work today and that took an hour and a half. One of the things we were talking about was how I wanted my work life to develop (we talk about a lot of other things as well so perhaps develop talk is slightly wrong to call it). I said that if one start to work in a smallish factory like the one I work in one really aren’t after especially much development, there are too few jobs to switch too to be honest. I said that it is like working in the waiting room of death 🙂 It sounds horrible but I actually don’t mean anything bad with that.
We who start working there are happy with not making a career and we rarely move to another company because the jobs will be much the same where ever we start working (what can make us move to another place is higher pay though). So we start working and continues to do so until either retirement arrives or death and we’re sort of happy with that. If we had want to make a career we should have studied better in school 🙂 Several of us at my work place have been there for fifteen years or longer.
I would however stop working if I won enough in the lottery though 🙂 🙂 🙂 As soon as I could see that money in my bank account it wouldn’t take two seconds before I walked up the the boss and said I’m quitting 🙂 🙂 🙂

Have a great day!
Hi Christer
Working in the waiting room of Death. OMG.😄😄😄 I hope you didn’t say all that to Development. They don’t like the truth to be spoken aloud. But really, after a certain age it’s silly to ask a 50 year old employee where they see themselves in 15 years. Drinking margaritas on a beach in Cancun, where else?😄
Here there is endless blue sky and maximum sunshine. The wind speed is 30mph so the windchill is very brisk. My windows are rattling.
Have a great day.

I thought that what you said was funny. Hope that is how everyone took it.

Hi tana!
Yes they did understand what I meant when I explained how I meant it to be. We need places where people just can work and not have to think about a career 🙂
Have a great day!

Hi Caryn!
I actually did and after explaining what I meant they actually agreed with me. It isn’t really a bad thing to be honest, we need work places like that where we don’t have to think about any career. I said some more things (that actually is really bad) that I really couldn’t write here but they actually agreed with me on those things as well 🙂
These questions really are a bit stupid but they are sort of standard in these meetings. They asked the same questions about how they looked at the future to a man who’s 63, he has actually already started his retirement 🙂 🙂 🙂
Nice weather again today but it’ll start to change during the weekend and if we’re really unlucky we’ll get some snow next week and we usually are 🙂 🙂 🙂
Have a great day!
Christer.

You have made some very good points, Christer, because sometimes people are so concerned about advancement that they fail to enjoy the work they are doing. I think there is too much stress on going to the next level and nothing “wrong” with being happy where you are. We used to also have similar meetings when I worked in the corporate/office world. Now, I can say that the best job I have ever had is being in retirement. I think you may feel the same as well.
The photos look like spring is not too far away, except for that possibility of snow that you mentioned, drat!

Hi Beatrice!
At least we don’t have the stress to always make a career but I have to say that we don’t always enjoy our work 🙂 🙂 🙂 and the good thing is we never get work mail so we don’t have to think about that either.
I’m pretty sure I’ll think retirement will be the best job I’ll ever have 🙂
Nice now but next week will be less nice they’re guessing.
Have a great day!
Christer.
